1: Simple design that allows you to take full control
What makes the electronic cigarette distinct and revolutionary is: what it is made up of and how it's operated.
First, lets talk about the design of the e-cig. The parts that make up the device are all pretty simple. These consist of a atomizer, an battery, and a cartridge. The battery is what powers the ecig and it connects to the 'atomizer'. In the center is the atomizer which then is connected to the cartridge. Finally located at the end and serving as both a mouthpiece and the container for the liquid solution is the cartridge. Each of these parts fits together to work and then can be detached for charging and easy maintenance.
Next instead tobacco the electronic cigarette is filled with a simple liquid solution. This solution, is typically called "e-juice" or "e-liquid" and is contained within the cartridge. It's what delivers the nicotine and produces the vapor while it's in use. E-liquid is generally made up of just a few ingredients: water, nicotine, vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol (both commonly used as food additives) and safe commonly used flavor agents such as ethyl maltol. Some companies have bottles of e-liquid that you can use to fill the cartridge yourself while others have "pre-filled" disposable cartridges that must be replaced altogether once the solution is used up.
In addition to the parts that make up the electronic cigarette there are also other components used to maintain it. These generally include USB charging devices, car and wall adapters, and carrying cases some of which may also serve to charge the device. Charging devices allow you power up the battery for continued use much like you would for a cellphone or ipod. Carrying cases can protect and contain the electronic cigarette parts so that they don't get damaged or lost when not in use.

2: How it all works
Most electronic cigarette models are activated when you inhale or take a "draw" from the cartridge mouthpiece. Drawing in then activates the atomizer which heats the e-liquid and this is what produces the harmless white vapor that looks similar to tobacco smoke. The rechargeable battery at the end of the device is what gives power to the atomizer.
So instead of using a match or lighter and igniting tobacco as in a regular cigarette with the electronic cigarette you simply “turn on” the device just by using it. This makes it much easier for you to continue experiencing the ritual of smoking, just without all the harmful elements.

3: Easy to Use Easy to Maintain
Since the ecig is an electronic device it must be maintained in order to keep it functioning properly and over a long period of time. Thankfully it’s just as easy to care for it as it is to use it. Simply keep the battery charged regularly by using the charging devices your model of electronic cigarette comes with. Also you may want to clean the parts every so often to ensure the device gets a good charge each time you use it. As with all electronic devices you will need to replace parts in time. A good idea is to have spare ecig batteries on hand. Otherwise just expect to purchase any replacement parts such as a new atomizer or battery possibly a few months down the road.
